Dr. Justine helps maintain Alongside’s quality and rigor by supporting crisis monitoring, research initiatives, and surveys.

Dr. Justine Bautista, PhD is an educational technology researcher at Instructure, where she works on evidence-based evaluation and design of digital learning tools. She earned her PhD from the University of California, Irvine, where she collaborated with Dr. Stephen Schueller on research at the intersection of human–computer interaction, technology, and well-being.

Her work focuses on designing and evaluating digital platforms that support learning, well-being, and equity for youth and emerging adults, with particular attention to culturally responsive and community-engaged approaches. Prior to joining Instructure, she partnered with Asian Mental Health Collective to co-design digital mental health tools for Asian and underserved communities.

Beyond her research, Dr. Bautista is an advocate for tech equity and mental health literacy, including an invitation to speak at the White House Mental Health Youth Action Forum. She is also a recipient of the Young Innovator in Behavioral Health award from Hopelab.
